GROUP EMDR THERAPY

Effective Treatment for Groups

Since the Parkland shooting, there has been a strong need for trauma treatment to effectively treat groups of individuals. Through research and pre/post-treatment assessments, we have discovered that it is possible to treat several people struggling with different traumas at the same time effectively and safely.  Which means, reaching more people through the healing power of EMDR!

I have been trained in using an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) protocol called G-TEP (Group Traumatic Episode Protocol) to treat several people at one time with success in reducing PTSD symptoms as well as other trauma-related issues.

Clients participating in G-TEP are encouraged to share only positive experiences of change. All trauma material is NOT shared in order to protect the members of the group while providing each individual a safe place to receive help.

This treatment is also beneficial to groups involved in treating trauma such as case workers, therapists, first responders, graduate students in trauma-related care.

This treatment has been used in a variety of settings to address a variety of symptoms including:

  • Anxiety

  • Recent Trauma/Past Trauma

  • PTSD

  • Self-doubt

  • Negative beliefs

  • Disturbing memories

  • Fear

  • Work-related Stress
